Are you meditating on your holidays? (Harvard research suggests you should)

Do you meditate more while on your holidays? A recent study shows that maybe you should!

Most of my students seem to ‘fall out of practise’ when they are on holidays. When you think about it initially, it seems you will have all the time in the world… yet somehow it doesn’t seem to happen!

Well, it seems that those who meditate while on vacation may be less inclined toward depression and stress, according to new research from scientists from the University of California and Harvard Medical School.

Findings indicate that a resort vacation provides a strong and immediate benefit to stress and well-being — especially when you meditate while you’re there.

Researchers concluded, “Based on our results, the benefit we experience from meditation isn’t strictly psychological; there is a clear and quantifiable change in how our bodies function,” (Professor of Neurology at Harvard University, and Director of the Genetics and Aging Research Unit at Massachusetts General Hospital)

Something to think about before you book your next vacation! Set the intention now and you are more likely to fulfill that promise to yourself.
